Sexually transmitted infections (STI’s)

MSI has launched a new, comprehensive sexually transmitted infection testing service at its centre in South London. At all Marie Stopes centres chlamydia screening and treatment is provided.

The new service offers a full screen for people who are concerned about a possible STI or just want a reassuring check up. This includes a consultation with our expert sexual health practitioner and advice about what package of STI tests would be recommended for the needs of the individual.

Fast appointments are available and the STI service is completely confidential with results given to you personally.

We are able to test for:
Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes, thrush, non specific urithritis, hepatitis A and B and HIV. There are different STI packages to meet your individual need.

In addition we can offer vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B.

Some results will be available at the time of the appointment and others will be notified a short while later. We will provide treatment for any positive STIs. In the case of a positive HIV test we will personally discuss this with you and refer you to specialist services for ongoing care.

General information on STI’s
STI's are passed on through unprotected sex and some are more serious than others.

Each STI has a range of different symptoms, some of which are not obvious, meaning that you could have an infection without being aware of it. Wearing condoms can protect you against STI’s. Although most of these infections can be treated easily if they are discovered early, they can have serious consequences for your health if they are left untreated. If you are unable to visit a MSI centre for a STI check, you should see your doctor or visit a local Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM)Clinic.
